The Cincinnatus Association

Committed to Citizenship and Cincinnati

The 2019 Spencer Awards dinner was a great success and a tribute to the organizations and individuals that contribute to excellence in Cincinnati.

In addition to the award winners, we want to thank the event sponsors. (For information about this year’s sponsors and how to become a sponsor for future events, click here.)

The Spencer Awards honor nonprofits and businesses who exhibit conspicuous and enduring contributions to promoting greater inclusion and diversity in the community.
The Spencer Awards are named after Cincinnati’s “First Couple of Civil Rights” to celebrate their achievements in civil rights. Though Mr. Spencer died in 2010 – before the inception of the awards – Mrs. Spencer had participated in the dinner each year – either in person or on the phone. Mrs. Spencer died June 28 at the age of 99.

Here’s what some of the attendees had to say about this year’s event:

The Reds Community Fund- Charley Frank:  Susan, what an absolutely lovely evening!  Congratulations on the turnout and fabulous content.  Thanks for investing so much in it and for including us in such a meaningful way.
